Private art dealing, advisory, and the pursuit of unusual and rare things.
What ReFind does
Discreet sourcing, acquisition, and sale of contemporary art and photography for collectors, estates, and institutions.
Building and refining collections with a curator's eye, from a single placement to a full program for a home or a space, often working directly with the artists.
Curated works placed on loan for private residences and high-end real estate and design projects, chosen for the room and the moment.
Beyond the walls: the hunt for singular objects, antique clocks, curiosities, and the genuinely hard to find, matched to the people who want them.
Past Projects
ReFind is the private practice of Joseph Kraeutler, an art dealer and curator with more than two decades in the field.
He has led the photographs departments at Phillips de Pury and Artnet, and co-founded the New York gallery Hasted Kraeutler, whose artists have entered collections including the Museum of Modern Art, LACMA, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Now based in Beacon, New York, he works with collectors, estates, and institutions to place and sell contemporary art and photography, with discretion, strategy, and results.
